Channel distributor Sherweb has introduced a new white-label Self-Service Portal that allows Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to enable clients to handle quick-turnaround tasks independently.
A Self-Service Era for Managed Services
This solution allows MSPs to step back from routine tasks, such as ordering technology licenses, managing subscriptions, and processing payments, leading to more efficient use of resources. The Self-Service Portal is accessible at no extra cost to nearly 8,000 MSPs partnered with Sherweb.
The new portal offers partners a fully branded digital interface that meets specific client needs, functioning on their behalf.
“MSPs are crucial in guiding businesses through the technological landscape and digital transformations. To effectively support major structural changes, they need to reduce the time spent on routine support,” shared Rick Stern, Senior Director of Platform. “Empowering customers is beneficial for all parties. Companies can resolve simple queries more efficiently, allowing MSPs to focus on higher-level issues and strategic initiatives that boost revenue for both them and their clients.”
Sherweb notes that this initiative allows MSPs to delegate operational responsibilities to their clients, freeing up resources to tackle inquiries that significantly impact business performance.
Key Features of the Self-Service Portal
The new portal empowers MSPs to:
- Automatically invoice and receive payments via PayPal for client services: Sherweb monitors client usage of licenses and aggregates these charges in monthly digital invoices, which clients can easily pay through their portals.
- Create curated catalogs featuring products from Sherweb’s marketplace and beyond, enabling customers to easily browse and purchase services at their convenience.
- Allow clients to buy and manage their licenses and subscriptions directly, minimizing the need for MSPs as intermediaries and enabling real-time control over services.
- Implement helpdesk functionality with a built-in chat that streamlines support ticket creation and resolution, improving overall communication and issue tracking.
MSPs can integrate Sherweb’s Self-Service Portal at no additional cost.
Enhancements to Partner Programs
Sherweb has also unveiled a new initiative aimed at facilitating AI adoption among MSPs. This program serves as a blueprint for helping end clients effectively integrate AI into their operations.
“We aimed to gather insights from our MSPs on how we could best support them,” said Jermaine Clark, Senior Manager of AI Readiness at Sherweb. “It took several months to finalize the key components and areas of focus for this initiative.”
The offering is designed to assist MSPs in connecting various data sources, implementing initial data security measures, developing both standard and customized AI use cases, and centralizing data to create fully AI-driven organizations.
Meanwhile, Atera has launched IT Autopilot for MSPs and IT teams seeking to automate repetitive tasks, further supporting self-service capabilities for their clients.
