EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. & BENGALURU, India–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO) has unveiled its “State of Cybersecurity Report 2025,” which highlights the critical need to incorporate AI in cybersecurity practices, especially amid rising costs and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

The report, based on a survey of over 100 cybersecurity leaders and consultants worldwide, reveals that AI-driven automation and cost efficiency are top priorities for organizations. Notably, 30% of respondents indicated that investing in AI automation to enhance cybersecurity operations and manage costs is a key focus. Additional cost-optimization strategies identified include tools rationalization (26%), optimizing security and risk management processes (23%), and simplifying operating models (20%).

Furthermore, the report emphasizes the expanding role of AI in addressing cyber threats. Investment in advanced AI-powered security measures, continuous monitoring of AI developments, and fostering an innovative culture within cybersecurity teams are essential for effective risk management. Many Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) are harnessing AI to enhance threat detection and response times (31%) and to develop better incident response strategies (24%).

This emphasis on AI for threat management is closely followed by the adoption of Zero Trust security frameworks, which emerged as a primary investment priority for 97% of survey participants.

“Cybersecurity budgets are struggling to keep pace with the growing sophistication of cyber threats,” stated Tony Buffomante, SVP & Global Head — Cybersecurity & Risk Services at Wipro Limited. “AI provides a way to reinforce defenses while optimizing costs, allowing CISOs to focus on achieving risk-adjusted returns on their investments.”

Buffomante also noted that Wipro’s established consulting-led approach and collaborations within the AI ecosystem help clients enhance their defenses while managing costs effectively. The initiative aims to empower clients to transform risks into opportunities for achieving a resilient cybersecurity future.

According to the report, to fully leverage AI for organizational cyber resilience, CISOs need to collaborate with colleagues to establish proper data governance. Additionally, implementing regular, comprehensive cybersecurity training programs for all staff is essential.
