The channel plays an essential role in providing security education and awareness, serving as a reliable resource for millions of customers.

The ongoing need for increased security awareness is crucial. Research and initiatives from managed service providers (MSPs) like Malwarebytes and SoSafe highlight the channel’s importance in delivering effective guidance and training.

Malwarebytes emphasizes the necessity for the channel to educate users about mobile threats, providing more user support. Their report, “Tap, swipe, scam: how everyday mobile habits carry real risk,” reveals the substantial volume of threats originating from mobile devices.

Through a global survey, Malwarebytes discovered that nearly half of users encounter scams daily, with many experiencing emotional distress due to constant threats. This situation presents a unique opportunity for the channel to enhance education about mobile threats while addressing their personal impacts.

David Ruiz, Senior Privacy Advocate at Malwarebytes, stated, “Mobile threats are not solely technical; they are profoundly personal. Our findings show the extent of the issue and its psychological effects. As cyber threats evolve with sophisticated technologies like deepfake and AI, we need to empower users with the knowledge and tools to counter these risks.” He added, “Scams shouldn’t be an accepted part of digital life. We want individuals to feel assured in their ability to recognize, prevent, and report scams, regardless of their nature.”

In the UK, mobile users are experiencing some of the highest rates of daily threats. The repercussions of scams can lead to financial losses and account accessibility issues. The rise of AI in cybercrime has rendered these attacks more difficult to identify, with phishing schemes impacting a vast number of individuals.

Malwarebytes also examined the emotional consequences of these attacks, revealing that 75% of victims reported severe effects, with nearly half struggling with mental health issues like anxiety and depression, as well as diminished trust.

Meanwhile, SoSafe, a specialist in security awareness training and human risk management, has launched an MSP platform aimed at equipping the channel with comprehensive security training options. This initiative targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) eager to enhance their understanding of threats and risk mitigation strategies. The platform allows MSPs to offer training and phishing simulations under their own branding, creating a tailored experience.

SoSafe has recognized a widening gap in the security capabilities between SMEs and larger entities; their Cybercrime Trends Report 2025 indicates that financial and multinational firms generally have more resources to invest in security than smaller enterprises and specific sectors like healthcare and critical infrastructure. CEO Niklas Hellemann declared, “Information security should not be an exclusive privilege of the largest companies. Our new MSP platform empowers IT service providers to effectively safeguard SMEs against cyber threats without imposing significant barriers.”
