Writer, a frontrunner in enterprise generative AI, has become one of the first model developers to gain ISO certifications for security, privacy, and responsible AI under ISO/IEC 27001, 27701, and 42001.

Based in San Francisco, Writer announced on May 28, 2025, that it has achieved these key ISO certifications, solidifying its dedication to creating AI systems that are trustworthy, controllable, and transparent. This accomplishment reflects Writer’s leadership in developing enterprise-grade LLMs.

As a reliable AI partner for numerous clients in the global 2000, Writer has integrated ethical, secure, and responsible practices into their AI innovations since their establishment in 2020. The certifications reaffirm the company’s commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of highly regulated industries.

“Writer’s focus on trustworthy, human-centered AI has driven innovation in our field,” stated Waseem AlShikh, CTO and Co-founder. “We are redefining industry standards for reliability and governance, ensuring that the AI solutions we create are not only innovative but also responsibly developed.”

The ISO/IEC standards signify Writer’s proactive approach to responsible AI development, encompassing elements such as safe operations through governance controls, visibility into agent performance, and comprehensive technical reporting that ensures transparency for customers.

Writer also emphasizes a commitment to information privacy and security. Their adherence to industry standards ensures they do not retain customer data beyond what is necessary, confirming compliance with regulations like GDPR and HIPAA.

To support these certifications, Writer offers a public Trust Center that provides clear access to security documentation and compliance information. This initiative further strengthens their commitment to transparency and customer trust in the AI lifecycle.
