Partnership Announcement

Norma has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Al Fardan Ventures, a UAE-based investment firm, to establish a quantum computing research and development center in the Middle East. This initiative is designed to cater to the rising regional demand for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud solutions, data centers, and quantum technologies.

Strategic Collaboration

This collaboration reflects a united strategy to foster innovation, stimulate economic growth, and enhance talent development within the Middle East’s ICT sector through joint research and technical support. Both companies aim to address the increasing needs in information and communication technologies across the region.

Norma’s Expansion Efforts

Norma is actively broadening its footprint in the Middle East, evidenced by previous agreements including an $18 million quantum computer export to Saudi Arabia and alliances with local academic and infrastructure institutions. Such moves illustrate Norma’s commitment to advancing technology in this vital area.

Research and Development Focus

The MOU, signed during the World IT Show (WIS) on April 25 in Seoul, stipulates that initial efforts will focus on meeting the growing ICT demands, particularly in AI, cloud computing, and data center infrastructure. Subsequent phases will venture into R&D and technical support for cybersecurity and quantum computing.

Quotes from Leadership

Jung Hyun-chul, CEO of Norma, emphasized the significance of the Middle East in the company’s global strategy: “The dynamically evolving Middle East is one of the core regions in Norma’s global strategy. Through this collaboration with Al Fardan Ventures, we aim to bring world-class technology to the Middle East and lead quantum innovation.”

Vision for the Future

Al Fardan Ventures’ CEO, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Fardan, remarked: “We are proud to build a strong technological foundation in the Middle East in the fields of quantum computing, AI, data centers, and cybersecurity through this partnership with Norma. This cooperation not only meets today’s technological needs but will also position the Middle East as a hub for cutting-edge ICT infrastructure.”

Recent Achievements in Technology

Norma continues to pursue advancements in quantum computing and security across the region. In December 2024, the company entered an $18 million export contract with Saudi firm Light Vision IT to deliver quantum computers. Additionally, partnerships have been formed with institutions such as King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) and ITB to support various quantum-related technologies.
